In the last few weeks there's been many great deals on cheap used guitars that I would have loved to have gotten in on, but due to a layoff from my job I'm only watching for now. I guess a lot of people are having to sell due to poor economy and many job layoffs.

An old Stratocaster sold through one of my other sites for $1,299.00. The thing is, the buyer could probably turn around and sell that same guitar at a very good profit. It was a beautiful guitar worth quite a bit more than the buyer paid.

One good rule of thumb when buying a used guitar through eBay...I like to always send a message to the individual listing the item and ask some general questions.

I normally ask if there's anything wrong with the equipment that isn't listed in the auction. Also, it's probably a good idea to ask why they're selling the item.

Many times someone may not list every detail, but when asked about the listing, they will sometimes you more information.
